“We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer than Sasha. From the very first contact Sasha made the whole process very smooth.

The lovely Kayley and Dan, who’ve been together eight years – got married at St. Agatha’s Church, Gilling West, with their reception at the Yorkshire Wedding Barn in late August 2017. They wanted some natural wedding photography because they loved the idea of documenting their special day by capturing people’s natural emotions, unaware that the moment was being caught on camera.

In the morning, both bride and groom got ready at the venue in different cottages: the Haybarn and Clover Barn. They chose this beautiful setting as they wanted somewhere for them and all their guests to stay, with a church nearby. It was the perfect choice. What was so unusual, though, was the couple getting ready so close together – they had to be careful not to catch a peek of each other!

Before the ceremony, Dan made his way over to a local pub to greet guests and have a swift drink. One of the funniest moments actually, was catching him and his best man happily walking hand in hand to the church… however I have a sneaky suspicion they knew I was photographing them, ha.

Kayley arrived wearing a gorgeous long white gown, with bright red lipstick and her blonde hair tied up with a veil. She walked down the aisle to Amazing Grace on the church organ. During the ceremony, the vicar gave a mini rundown of Kayley and Dan’s relationship so far, which touched on a lot of emotions from everyone.

After their ‘I dos’ there was the confetti throw, before everyone made their way back to the main barn for drinks, ice cream and group photos. Even Dan and Kayley’s adorable dog joined in for a few photos in his pink bow tie (and of course, for some frolicking and pampering).

What was lovely about the day was that the whole wedding party had the place to themselves, including the vast grounds and playground. It was just lovely to photograph, with the green setting and bright blue skies, scattered with a few clouds. The colours were wonderful.

The reception room was stunning. There wan’t a theme as such, however they went for a vintage, rustic feel. There were fairy lights on the back wall, which really lit up the place and looked gorgeous. The table numbers had different love quotes, dressed with log slices, tea lights and flowers, which looked incredibly pretty.

After the wedding breakfast there were drinks, before the cutting of the cake and dancing to a live rock band. Kayley popped on her gold trainers and – alongside her new husband – had their first dance. They danced to ‘You and Me’ by Lifehouse as this had always been ‘their’ song. In fact, Dan arranged for someone to sing this on Gapstow Bridge, Central Park, before he got down on one knee.

In conclusion, It was a beautiful day, congratulations Kayley & Dan.
