Clair & Michael ♡ St. Nicholas Bradfield Church & The Wortley Arms, Bradfield Wedding

A little look at Clair & Michael’s lovely The Wortley Arms & St. Nicholas Bradfield Church wedding.

“Sasha was fantastic. We absolutely love the photos she took on our wedding day. She made us both feel really relaxed for our private shoot & captured some great moments through out the day.”

Clair and Michael’s winter wedding took place on New Year’s Eve eve. It was just outside my hometown of Sheffield, at St. Nicholas Bradfield Church. It was a cold but clear morning when I arrived at Clair’s for bridal prep’. She looked beautiful in a long white dress with a small, delicate trail. Her striking red lipstick contrasted perfectly with her fair skin and dark hair. A pretty, intricate hair clip completed the classic look.

Meanwhile, Michael was getting things ready at St. Nicholas Bradfield church. He, along with the males of the wedding party, wore dark red ties and fabulous feather button holes to complete the wintery theme and complement Clair’s pretty wedding bouquet. The church itself is picture-postcard perfect, on top of a hill with amazing views of the city nearby, so a really wonderful choice. The ceremony was beautiful, particularly with the big Christmas tree that made for a really warm, festive atmosphere.

After the nuptials, there was a great opportunity for some natural confetti throw photos (some of my favourite shots of the day!). Afterwards, the newly-weds and I had a photoshoot down by Lady Bower, one of the most romantic and atmospheric places in the Peak District. I particularly love how the amazing landscape reflects in the reservoir and since Clair and Michael are such great fun, we all had a nice time.

The wedding reception took place at the characterful Wortley Arms where the historic rooms and solid oak beams had been dressed in copious amounts of fairy lights, candles, bunting and pompoms. Actually, one of the most touching moments of the day was Clair’s face when she saw the breakfast area for the first time – she looked so surprised and happy!

The afternoon and evening passed in a happy blur, with lots of food, drink, laughter and board games. I particularly enjoyed the newly-weds’ joint speech thanking their guests and the people who’d helped. And the wedding cake was amazing – four-tiers of Victoria sponge!

Clair and Michael are really funny and easy to get along with, so it was great wedding to finish off a busy and enjoyable 2016. Here’s to more of the same in 2017!

Kind words:

Sasha was fantastic. We absolutely love the photos she took on our wedding day. She made us both feel really relaxed for our private shoot & captured some great moments through out the day.
