A look at Jess & Luke’s gorgeous Hopefield Evangelical Church & Whitley Hall wedding.

○ What’s your love story?

We met at church study group and got together after about a year of going to the bible study group. We went to Israel in September 2019 where we travelled all over the country to visit the biblical archaeological sites in line with the Bible which really made it come alive. Around 2 days in we were on the Mount of Beatitudes overlooking the sea of Galilee where Luke proposed before we had to leave. We were completely alone, it was a beautiful moment.

○ Why did you choose Hopefield Evangelical Church & Whitley Hall as your wedding venues?

Because of the location, and we liked the rustic style of the building.

○ What is the style/theme/vibe of your wedding?

Natural, rustic, wintery and relaxed.

○ What music are you walking down the aisle to / first dance and why?

Walking down the aisle to Before the throne of God above played by our friends and family. The first dance is to Miqedem – Adonai Ro’i (Psalm 23). As bible-believing Christians it meant a lot to us to have the Lord in our wedding and share the gospel with everyone joining us, so these are both songs we are very fond of and listen to often.

○ What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Luke: I am most looking forward to committing my life to my bride in front all of our friends, family and in the eyes of God. I am very excited to see Jessica walk down the aisle in her wedding dress. Oh and one mustn’t forget, putting on the ol’ dancing shoes.

Jessica: I’m most looking forward to making a covenant with my best friend and husband to be, one that is held holy by the Lord my God. Also making my marriage vows in front of my family and friends. I have my grandad walking me down the aisle with my father which is an honour. I’m excited to spend the day with all of my family and my friends, its very special to me to have them there. Of course with a few drinks and a good boogie on down later!!

○ Describe your ideal wedding day in 3 words:

Blessed, relaxed and uplifting.

○ Why do you like natural wedding photography?

There’s no pressure to get the most staged and perfect shot. The best photographs happen naturally… also Luke smiles a little like Chandler (Friends)!

○ Any advice for future brides & grooms planning their day?

Be organised, make lists, don’t feel pressured into spending thousands on your wedding! It can look just as good if you do things yourself rather than a vendor and add a personal touch. And finally, enjoy it! It only comes around once, and when it’s over it’s over.

We got in contact with Sasha when our original photographer left us high and dry about 6 weeks before the wedding and in a panic she didn’t hesitate to say she’d do it for us.

Was so lovely and made me so comfortable, made sure she had all the details before the big day so I didn’t have to worry about a thing and basically did her thing and got straight to it on the day, I barely even noticed she was there most of the time (which for me who is pretty camera shy was brilliant!)
