○ What’s your love story?

We met after signing up to a dating site in January 2018. Chris was my second message. I loved what he’d written on his profile and that he seemed keen for a committed relationship. We met on a cold January evening at a local bar, turned up in the same ripped skinny jeans and it was like we’d known each other for years, we didn’t stop chatting and laughing and had lots in common. At the end of the night, Chris walked me back to my car and gave me a hug. I was convinced I’d been friend zoned and chuckled to myself on the drive home that it was just my luck. Little did I know that Chris was equally as smitten. We both felt we’d met someone really special. In July 2019 we had our first family holiday in Corfu. We had planned a trip to a beautiful resort, which didn’t go as planned due to a freak storm, but Chris had already planned to ask me to marry him. He proposed in the choppiest sea, whilst being circled by our snorkelling children, who were oblivious to his plans. I immediately said yes and three cancelled weddings (thanks Covid) and a relocation later, we are looking forward to finally being husband and wife.

○ Why did you choose Bakewell Town Hall as your wedding venue?

We’ve recently relocated to the area and have fallen in love with Bakewell. It signifies a fresh start and our new life together as husband and wife.

○ What is the style/theme/vibe of your wedding?

Intimate, relaxed and full of love.

○ What music are you walking down the aisle to / first dance and why?

Everlong (Acoustic version), Foo Fighters. Reminds us of our first proper weekend away. Chris surprised me with Foo Fighter tickets (one of my favourite bands that I’ve been desperate to see for years) in London. It was an amazing weekend from start to finish and the first time we said “I Love You”.

○ What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Kate: Marrying my best friend and soulmate. Chris: Making the commitment to Kate and being able to call her my wife.

○ Describe your ideal wedding day in 3 words:

Relaxed, romantic, memorable.

○ Why do you like natural wedding photography?

We prefer to capture the emotion of the day and those special moments that are missed in formal wedding photography. The smiles, the tears, things that go wrong as well a right and the love and connection between us as a couple and those dearest to us.

○ Any advice for future brides & grooms planning their day?

Remember why you’re doing it. Don’t feel you have to conform, it’s your day, so do what works for you and what’s suits you as a couple.
