○ What’s your love story?

We met on an online dating agency 9 years ago, after realising that we actually lived on the same road as each other and didn’t event know it. 4 years later we enjoyed a special holiday together with my Mum and Step Dad in Mexico for my 30th birthday where I surprised Lauren with a Valentines Day evening meal on the beach that I booked in secret. It was a private area with just the 2 of us, which is where I then proposed to her. 5 years later we’re now finally making arrangements for the big day. Lauren always said she wanted to get married before she’s 40 so I’m happy to say she will get her wish.

○ Why did you choose Bakewell Registry Office as your wedding venue?

As much as we wanted the big fancy wedding we realised it was out of our budget. Therefore decided to keep things simple by opting for a registry office service for the ceremony, and hiring a nice function room for the reception afterwards for close family only. This felt like it got the balance right. We chose Bakewell as we both live in Sheffield so wanted a location different to what we see often, and thought Bakewell was a good choice being a nice picturesque village (making it good for photos) and not too far from home.

○ What music are you walking down the aisle to / first dance and why?

Probably walking down the aisle to The Rose by Westlife. Not sure if we’ll be having a first dance but if we do it will be Queen of my Heart by Westflife. Lauren likes Westlife, they are from our era and both songs seem really fitting for the event.

○ What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Seeing Lauren in her dress. Being together with everyone and bringing our two families together.

○ Describe your ideal wedding day in 3 words:

Happiness. Love. Romance.

○ Why do you like natural wedding photography?

It captures the moment and isn’t staged.

○ Any advice for future brides & grooms planning their day?

Do it well in advance to give yourself as much time as possible and give everyone plenty of notice, make a list of everything you need to do. Google ‘wedding planning list’ and don’t forget all the little details. Double check everyone has the correct date. Budget for more than you first anticipate.
