○ What’s your love story?

In September 2013 I (Kate) moved to Newcastle to take up a training position and on 31st October Eoin moved into the shared house where I was living. I remember Eoin coming to view the house before he moved in – I was walking home from work and I saw him waiting a few doors down and saying hi. 🙂 We had our first date early in 2014 and luckily it all worked out for the best as we were already living together! We got engaged on holiday in Kefalonia on our balcony in front of a beautiful sunset. Eoin had suggested going down to the beach to watch the sunset but not knowing what he was planning, I was too slow getting ready and was going to miss the sunset so he did it on the balcony instead.

○ Why did you choose choose to have Sorrento elopement wedding?

We love Italy and love the idea of having a wedding outdoors with beautiful weather and amazing food! I am from the South West, Eoin is from Ireland and we live in Newcastle and after a while of searching, we decided that if lots of people have to travel anyway, we might as well go somewhere hot!

○ What is the style/theme/vibe of your wedding?

Very elegant (hopefully), romantic, intimate and personal wedding.

○ What music are you walking down the aisle to / first dance and why?

We are walking down the aisle to Canon in D (I learned to play this on the piano when I was a teenager and loved it) and my granddad, who is a musician, will be playing and singing our first dance. We’ve chosen Wonderful Tonight.

○ What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Finally being married to my best friend (this is the third attempt!). Also, looking forward to spending the day with our closest family.

○ Describe your ideal wedding day in 3 words:

Elegant, personal, wonderful.

○ Why do you like natural wedding photography?

We are not very good at posing for pictures and much prefer a natural style especially as this will capture the atmosphere more than staged photos. We would like to have some staged photos with everyone but as there’s only 12 of us now it shouldn’t take too long 🙂

○ Any advice for future brides & grooms planning their day?

Don’t plan a wedding in a worldwide pandemic! Seriously though… prepare for the unexpected… even outside of a pandemic there are lots of things that can happen in the run up to the wedding and it’s important to ask for help and support to deal with any last minute wedding stress! Remembering to ask for help is definitely a good piece of advice!
