After 8 years together, Suzy & Simon came together on a sunny July day at Sheffield wedding venue Whirlowbrook Hall to make their love official. This stunning venue is set on the outskirts of Sheffield, nearby the Peak District. Whirlowbrook Hall is a grand, stone manor house, and a perfect blend of charm, elegance, romance and tradition. Suzy & Simon chose this venue as “with it being such an intimate wedding with a small guest list, we felt like Whirlowbrook Hall was perfect. We also liked the idea that our guests can enjoy the outdoors on the lovely lawn and gardens surrounding the hall.”

Suzy got ready at the venue alongside her bridal party, while Simon greeted guests downstairs. The ceremony took place in a lovely and bright room, with wooden floors and flower petals scattered down the aisle. Suzy was walked down the aisle by her gorgeous grandma, and throughout the ceremony neither bride nor groom could stop smiling. It was so sweet to see, and honestly this couple just radiate love & happiness 💖.

Group photos took place outdoor in the gardens, which had been blessed by warm, sunny weather. A little confetti throw tunnel followed, before Suzy, Simon & I headed for a walk around the grounds for couple photos. We captured some romantic & natural photos, and it was also a nice opportunity for the newlyweds to spend a little time together. Guests meanwhile enjoyed drinks in the summer air, and played giant Jenga and Connect 4 out on the lawn.

The wedding breakfast room had a beautiful, traditional and romantic look to it. The colours were light and airy, with pops of pastel here and there. The biggest pastel pop was the stunning pink wedding cake, made by Cakes by CherryPie (actually one of my former brides)! Speeches were given by Suzy’s grandma, Simon and the best man, who didn’t have a bad word to say about his bestie.

The newlyweds had their first dance to John Legend’s ‘You & I’, and it was lovely to see this couple so happy & in love. Halfway through the song, usually this is where the couple invites everyone to come and join them. In a lovely twist however, Suzy invited her grandma for a dance and Simon with his niece. I’ve never seen anyone do this at a wedding before, it was incredibly cute and touching 💖💖💖. A perfect moment in Suzy & Simon’s perfect day.

Why do you like natural wedding photography?
We love seeing those candid shots that capture natural moments, and besides, I know Simon isn’t one to pose for photos!
