Keeley and Steven’s Barnsley Town Hall wedding took place on a sunny July day in 2017, with their reception at Riley’s The Potting Shed. The happy couple have been together since January 2014, and were engaged for two years before they said their ‘I dos’.

The big day began with bridal prep. Keeley looked lovely in a gorgeous white wedding gown, with her blonde hair tied up and a pretty veil. It was such a touching moment when her dad saw her in her dress for the first time. He was very tearful and it was really sweet to see.

The bride arrived at the ceremony in style, which was an intimate, heartfelt and emotive affair. I loved Steven’s face when he caught the eye of his bride-to-be walking down the aisle, it says so much about the love he feels for his now-wife.

Afterwards we went to the Potting Shed for drinks and the wedding buffet breakfast. The couple chose it for its convenient location and informal and relaxed atmosphere, and I can see why. It’s such a fun venue, with all sorts of farm animals wandering around the grounds. I love animals, so it was a lot of fun being surrounded by alpacas and pygmy goats 😁

The wedding breakfast room looked lovely with pom-poms and ribbons hanging from the ceiling, and I liked how the tables were city-themed to represent Keeley and Steven’s favourite places. The speeches were great, especially the groom’s mum’s, who really spoke from the heart. It was pretty funny when the best man pretended to surprise Keeley with all her old school classmates ‘waiting outside’… before revealing that he was joking, much to her relief!

If I was to steal one idea from the wedding, it’d be the ice-cream dessert. I mean, who doesn’t love an ice-cream cone?! Especially on a hot day. As well as that, there was an amazing cake and the Keeley and Steven figures are brilliant! There was also lots and lots of dancing. In fact, my favourite photo is Keeley and Steven’s first dance to Rascal Flatts’ ‘Day Before You’. You’ll see from the pictures just how happy and content they are.

Keeley and Steven initially contacted me because they wanted natural shots of their wedding and for someone to capture the best bits! I really enjoyed photographing their special day, everyone was so lovely 😁
