○ What’s your love story?

We met at uni 10 years ago and since then, we’ve moved to London and now live together in our house in Balham. We got engaged 2 years ago on a surprise trip to Mallorca (Dan planned the trip!).

○ Why did you choose Bakewell Town Hall & Fischer’s Baslow Hall as your wedding venue?

We will be getting married in Mallorca in September as an ode to our engagement story, but for the legal side of things, we are hosting our small ceremony in Derbyshire. Dan’s family are from Derbyshire so we wanted to have our celebration in a place that feels like part of our history. We love visiting family in Derbyshire and Bakewell is one of our favourite towns to stop at.

○ What is the style/theme/vibe of your wedding?

This will be a more intimate chance to celebrate what being married means to us, which for us is all about family. It will be a small occasion, but no less special than our bigger celebration later in the year. We think it will be a great chance to take in the experience and make memories with our closest family. Fischer’s Baslow Hall is such a beautiful hotel and we love that we can keep coming back here for years to come throughout our marriage.

○ What music are you walking down the aisle to / first dance and why?

I Get to Love You – Ruelle. We think the lyrics of this song are really special. It’s about the commitment we are making to one another, and how lucky we are to have each other.

○ What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Our grandmas are our witnesses and they are so excited about that, which makes us feel really excited too! We’re also looking forward to getting ready together, which isn’t something you would expect to experience and we think will be really fun.

○ Describe your ideal wedding day in 3 words:

Intimate, relaxed, family-first.

○ Why do you like natural wedding photography?

We think it will best capture the vibe of the day we are looking for, and show the memories of the day as they really were, without being too forced or artificial.

○ Any advice for future brides & grooms planning their day?

Enjoy it! There’s lots of ways to make it fun, like listening to all your potential song choices on a road trip, or organising DIY wine tastings or cake tastings with friends and family!
