The Parsonage Hotel Wedding, York ♡ Emma & Michael

A little look at Emma & Michael’s lovely St. Stephen Church & The Parsonage Hotel & Spa wedding in York.

Emma and Michael got married on a warm and sunny day in August 2017 at St. Stephen’s Church near York. They had their wedding reception at The Parsonage, which is a beautiful hotel and spa, just a short drive away.

The day began with bridal prep, with Emma and her bridesmaids got ready in matching kimono-style gowns. The bride wore a gorgeous floor-length white wedding gown, and the bridesmaids were in pretty pink tea-dresses. Emma had her blonde hair tied up, with a small section hanging loose and a diamond necklace to finish off her elegant look.

The ceremony was lovely, especially as Emma walked down the aisle with both her dad and young son. I loved the part where the children read a poem they’d written about their family – it was so cute.

Afterwards, we went to The Parsonage, where we were greeted with welcome drinks and pink-flowered cupcakes. This was a brilliant wedding venue, with six acres of formal grounds and woodlands for the children to run about and play in. It was such a nice day to be outside as well and everyone was having heaps of fun.

It was here that we did the group, family and bride & groom photoshoots. My favourite memory from the day is of the family shots – the couple’s youngest took it upon himself to tell some jokes and make everyone laugh, which was really adorable.

The wedding breakfast room looked great. Emma had done all the table decorations herself, with lots of blush pink, grey and rose gold. She also made the gorgeous cake! After the food, there were speeches and the two best men grilled Michael with a PowerPoint presentation full of old photos of him. It was hilarious!

In the evening, Emma and Michael had invited another 80 people in addition to their day guests. When everyone was there, the newlyweds cut the cake and enjoyed their first dance before partying with their friends and family into the night. In fact, if I had to steal one idea from this wedding, it’d be the pink party flip flops for people to switch into for dancing. Such a great idea!
