Alice & Mark ♡ Shottle Hall Wedding, Derbyshire

A little look at Alice & Mark’s lovely Shottle Hall wedding in Derbyshire.

“So easy going Sasha felt more like a wedding guest than a photographer. We couldn’t rate her highly enough thanks for catching our special day and also a huge thanks for the anniversary card and gift.”

Alice and Mark’s Derbyshire wedding took place on a spring day in April 2017 at the exclusive country house, Shottle Hall.

The day began with bridal prep at the venue itself. Alice wore a classic white, strapless dress in the daytime, with a faux-fur stole. She had her long, loosely curled blonde hair down, finished with a stunning art deco accessory. Mark looked dapper in his three-piece suit, bowtie and white rose and feather buttonhole.

The ceremony was held in a barn-type building, which had a nice rustic feel. After the wedding, there was a great big confetti throw, then canopies and Pimm’s in the vast grounds. They even had falconry to entertain the guests, which was really fun to take pictures of. The birds were beautiful, and the black and white owl, Domino, was sooo cute – the arranging of his feathers just made him look super grumpy 😝

The entertainment continued at the wedding breakfast with the singing waiter! He was brilliant. He got all the guests up and dancing, and everyone’s different reaction to him was pretty funny. The speeches were a little different too, with Alice and Mark giving theirs together which I thought was a lovely idea.

I managed to whisk the happy couple away for some bride and groom shots just as the sun was setting, before taking some photos of them cutting their alternative and classy looking black & gold wedding cake. By this point, Alice had changed into a gorgeous black & white evening dress that allowed for lots of dancing.

The photos of Alice and Mark having their first dance together are some of my favourites, and Alice dancing with her dad too – he looks so proud and happy ♡ The most memorable moment of the day for me however, was seeing people’s reactions to the hawk as he swooped in for his dinner. You can see everyone’s terror in the photos – so funny.

Kind words:

So easy going Sasha felt more like a wedding guest than a photographer. We couldn’t rate her highly enough thanks for catching our special day and also a huge thanks for the anniversary card and gift.
