Rebecca and Tom’s story started in a pretty modern way – on a dating app. What began as easy conversation (and a shared love of dogs) quickly turned into something more when they met in person and instantly clicked. Somewhere along the way, they even spotted both their names on a narrow boat (definitely a “meant to be” moment!)

From zoo trips to dinner dates and cinema nights, their relationship grew naturally over time. After years of building a life together in Manchester, they decided to do things their own way when it came to getting married.

Their ceremony at Salford Registry Office was something they’d always seen as the “official bit” – a simple, intimate moment to make it legal. But of course, it turned out to be special in its own right, marking the day they officially became husband and wife.

After the ceremony, we spent some time in the gardens capturing a few relaxed, natural moments with their two close friends and their dog Pedro. It was a really lovely, laid-back part of the day, just a chance for everyone to slow down, chat, and enjoy being together while we took some relaxed photos in a calm, sentimental setting.

The real celebration, though, is still to come. Rebecca and Tom are heading to the Maldives, where they’ll exchange vows and rings in a private ceremony, just the two of them. That’s the moment they’re truly looking forward to – their own, personal way of celebrating their marriage.

From Manchester to the Maldives, their story is all about doing things their way, and this is just the start.

○ Why did you choose Marie Louise Gardens for your Manchester elopement photography?

We chose Marie Louise Gardens for our photos with you because we just love it there. When we first moved to Manchester to embark of life living together it was around the corner from us and we went for many COVID lockdown walks around there to get fresh air, talking about our plans and future dreams, occasionally arguing too lol. It’s also our dog Pedro’s fave park now too because there’s many squirrels to chase. It’s also beautiful in Autumn which is both of our fave season!
