UK Kpop Dance Competition ♡ Steal The Stage 2025

Throwback to Steal The Stage 2025, a UK university Kpop dance competition at the University of Sheffield, featuring Boy Group, Girl Group and Wildcard performances.

In 2025, the University of Sheffield hosted Steal The Stage, a national university Kpop dance competition bringing together teams from across the UK.

The event featured three competitive categories: Boy Group, Girl Group, and Wildcard, giving societies the opportunity to showcase both traditional Kpop covers and more creative or mixed-genre performances. Each team delivered amazing showcases of choreography, strong stage presence and carefully considered styling, reflecting love for Kpop dance across the country.

The panel of invited judges, all experienced dancers and choreographers, offered encouraging and constructive feedback throughout the day before selecting the winners in each category. They spoke about timing, clean execution, musicality, formations, and the confidence and presence each team brought to the stage, making the competition feel both supportive and inspiring. The day finished with an RPD (random play dance)!

From a photography perspective, Steal The Stage was an incredible event to capture, from sharp formations under dramatic stage lighting to expressive solo moments and the raw energy of teams giving their all on a national stage. Beyond the competition, the day felt like a celebration of how much UK university Kpop communities have grown, the care, dedication and professionalism these student societies continue to bring to what they do. The atmosphere was amazing and no matter whether it was their own home team or not, the audience hyped every performance.
