Samantha & Matthew’s New Year’s Eve wedding took place at Belper’s Makeney Hall Hotel. This beautiful venue is situated in the heart of Derbyshire, set in six acres of stunning gardens. The happy couple chose Makeney Hall Hotel as they “fell in love with the outdoor veranda area.” Also, “it was a bonus when we found out it could be used all year round.” Additionally, they “loved the countryside views of the venue and the alternative rooms” that could be used for the wedding breakfast and evening reception.
After 7 years together and a 4 year engagement, Samantha & Matthew tied the knot with an outdoor ceremony. It was a chilly but bright afternoon, as they said their ‘I dos’ and walked back down the aisle together hand-in-hand. Shortly after everyone gathered in the garden to celebrate the marriage with a dried flower petal confetti throw. Afterwards, the newlyweds & I had a little walk around the grounds for a breather and to snap some lovely bride & groom photographs.
The wedding breakfast room looked beautiful. Samantha & Matthew chose “modern contemporary decor using rose gold and added sparkle for a New Year’s Eve wedding.” Additionally, the tables were named after countries they had visited together over the past 7 years.
The rest of the evening was a fun and joyous event, as everyone enjoyed sitting down for a hot dinner, followed by both hilarious and emotional speeches. What then followed was celebratory drinking together, a sparkler tunnel outside in the garden, cutting of the cake and the couple’s first dance. All-in-all a pretty perfect New Year’s for the newlyweds.
