Rebecca & Richard ♡ The Great Tythe Barn Wedding, Tetbury

A look at Rebecca & Richard’s gorgeous The Great Tythe Barn wedding in Tetbury.

○ What’s your love story?

Rebecca came home from uni for 6 months to live at home and save money before moving back up North with some friends. She met Richard in a bar after 3 months and… never moved back to live with her friends! It turned out we had a whole group of friends in common but had never met – Rebecca had a picture of her future husband saved on her phone without knowing who he was. We quickly moved in together and the rest was history. We were together for 6 years before Richard proposed in the lake district on one of our camper van holidays (in a hotel because our walk got rained off!)

○ Why did you choose The Great Tythe Barn as your wedding venue?

We love spending time in the woods going for walks in nature, and a rustic barn fit us perfectly.

○ What is the style/theme/vibe of your wedding?

Rustic, woodland vibes.

○ What music are you walking down the aisle to / first dance and why?

Walking down the aisle to “marry me” by Train, and dancing to “Lucky” by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat. The song sums us up perfectly.

○ What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Having all of our family and friends together.

○ Describe your ideal wedding day in 3 words:

Relaxed, fun, memorable.

○ Why do you like natural wedding photography?

As two rather unphotogenic people, and having seen many posed pictures of weddings in the past, we wanted to capture the real feelings of our wedding rather than having lots of staged pictures of people smiling. That way we get real and natural pictures of lots of special moments that we can cherish.

○ Any advice for future brides & grooms planning their day?

Spreadsheets! Write everything down and keep track of everything. There’s so much going on and it is so much more reassuring when you have it all written down in front of you.

○ Would you recommend having an engagement shoot?

Yes, definitely for people who don’t feel comfortable in front of the camera. It gives you an idea of what the staged wedding day pictures will feel like so there’s less anxiety around it, plus it gives you a chance to get to know the photographer and feel more comfortable on the day.
