Cubley Hall Wedding, Sheffield ♡ Leigh & Laura

Leigh & Laura’s special day took place in mid-June 2018 at Sheffield’s Cubley Hall. This venue has a lovely, warm feel to it. Also plenty of garden space for guests to relax in in the summer weather. The two brides chose this venue as ‘it’s in the countryside’ and they loved the ‘rustic look and outdoors.’

An early start to the day began with bridal prep, as the brides got ready with their individual bridesmaid parties. This all took place at Cubley Hall, with the two rooms being just a stones throw away – still, the girls luckily managed to avoid getting a sneak peak before the ceremony.

Both Laura & Leigh got ready into stunning, long, white gowns – a striking difference however in that Laura’s was backless and Leigh’s had a lace detail on the upper body. They both wore their dark brown locks in curly up-dos, finishing off the look with pretty bouvardia flowers pinned in.

The initial plan for the day was to have an outdoor ceremony under the bandstand, but the weather (in typical English fashion) was being a bit unpredictable from 1 hour to the next. However this wasn’t a problem at all, as Cubley Hall has a beautiful barn where ceremonies can be held – adorned with plenty of fairy lights. ✨

Laura was the first to walk down the aisle, arm in arm with her dad. There, she awaited her beautiful bride who shortly after made her way down the aisle, accompanied by her own dad. The ceremony was so sweet, and the girls held hands tightly throughout. Their friend Ben gave a reading, and since he had chosen the piece himself it was going to be a surprise for both Laura & Leigh!

After the ‘I dos’ guests happily threw dried petal confetti onto the newlyweds as they walked back down the aisle together. (There was actually a confetti pick & mix box which I’ve never seen before and thought was awesome!) Outside was a giddy surprise waiting for Leigh, arranged by Laura – their incredibly adorable and excited pet dog! 😭Too cute. I cannot contain my excitement when people bring their pets to weddings 😆

The backdrop to Cubley Hall is stunning, with it’s vast green fields and herd of friendly cows (some of whom like to come over for a closer look and nosey!) We took a bunch of group photos on and in front of the bandstand, before everyone made their way back inside the barn for the wedding breakfast. The room was lit up with tonnes of fairy lights and giant LOVE letters. The creamy look of the room was complimented perfectly by the flower wall displayed behind the top table.

After some lovely speeches and a delicious meal accompanied by bubbly, the girls & I made our way out for a couple photoshoot. Since we were a little pressed for time earlier on in the day we decided to do the shoot after the meal. This was nice because now there was no rush at all. Leigh & Laura finally got to enjoy a bit of quiet time together, walking around the grounds hand-in-hand while I snapped away.

Meanwhile, guests inside had fun with the photobooth and kept the drinks coming in at the bar. Staff had rearranged the room all ready for the evening reception, and additional family & friends soon started arriving. A family member wired up his acoustic guitar ready to play some live music for the evening set. Along came the time for the first dance. The beautiful newlyweds danced to an acoustic version of ‘I wanna be yours’ by the Arctic Monkeys. The smoke machine and backdrop of fairy lights made for a really romantic feel, as the girls slow danced together. Such a perfect moment for such a beautiful couple, setting the tone for the rest of their evening ♡
