Beverley & Michael ♡ Swancar Farm Country House Wedding, Nottingham

A look at Beverley & Michael’s glorious Swancar Farm Country House wedding.

“What can we say about Sasha that hasn’t already been said. Simply amazing.”

Michael & Beverley tied the knot on a chilly but dry February day at Nottingham’s Swancar Farm Country House. This beautiful venue is set upon 250 acres of rolling countryside, with spectacular views, and even has it’s own romantic love lock tree 🌳.

What’s your love story?

Met online, both of us before the first date had told friends we couldn’t be bothered going on yet another pointless date. When we met we talked and laughed for ages and we couldn’t wait to see each other again, so much so our second date was the next day before Michael went on holiday that weekend. We got engaged in Gran Canaria in Oct 2017, Michael proposed in the hotel room and Bev screamed at a pitch only dogs could hear. And we kept to our plans that evening by going for an all you can eat Chinese followed by a drag show!

Why did you choose Swancar Farm Country House?

Perfect setting, beautiful building, great staff, and a location we felt very relaxed in and could see our guests having an awesome time there.

What is the style/theme/vibe of your wedding?

There is a slight movie theme to the wedding as Bev is a film teacher. The table plan, names etc all centred around our favourite films, including the top table named after the Tom Hardy film ‘Legend’, which was the first film we saw together.

What music are you walking down the aisle to / first dance and why?

Coldplay’s ‘Us against the world’ is what Bev is walking down the aisle to. Bev still hasn’t listened to it a lot but Michael had listened to it and thought it was perfect. The first dance is ‘It means nothing’ by the Stereophonics, going into ‘C’est La Vie‘ by the same band. They are our favourite band and we have seen them live whenever possible. We have even received a wedding card (a bit ahead of time) from the lead signer Kelly Jones.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

For Michael it is seeing Bev that first time on the day at the end of the aisle. For Bev it is her dad walking her down the aisle to Michael. Both of us agree though that the first drink together at the end of the ceremony is going to be amazing!

Describe your ideal wedding day in 3 words:

What. We. Have.

Why do you like natural wedding photography?

Because it captures the tiny details from a day that otherwise you’d never see. Expressions during speeches or tender moments between people that the bride and groom may otherwise miss. We are both natural people and quite relaxed so it suits us perfectly.

Any advice for future brides & grooms planning their day?

Just go with your gut feeling. The benefit of things like social media is that you see suppliers’ work without having to ask, the meeting is to ensure you get on with them which is also important. Be selfish, even if that’s not your style because so many people want a piece of your day, so don’t lose yourselves in that.

Kind words:

What can we say about Sasha that hasn’t already been said. Simply amazing. We found Sasha through Facebook and her pricing and simple approach to the photography and after service was really straightforward. In the lead up to the day Sasha was easy to contact and nothing was too much trouble. We got married in Feb this year and on the day Sasha makes you feel totally at ease and you forget she is there. We have been told so many times by our guests afterwards that they didn’t even realise she was taking pictures of them which is hugely beneficial when capturing some of the special moments she did. The pictures came so quickly after the day which was a wonderful surprise and they are astonishing. We were so happy to have found Sasha and she has captured our amazing day perfectly.

Thank you Sasha, we’d recommend you to everyone we know getting married.
