Rebecca & Chris ♡ Whitley Hall Hotel Wedding, Sheffield

A look at the lovely Rebecca & Chris’s Whitley Hall Hotel wedding in Sheffield

“My photos from Sasha are beyond perfect. She captured the whole day and even got bits that I missed! I don’t think I’ve ever had so many emotions looking at photos, laughing at some and then a little tear of happiness for the ceremony ones.
If I could describe Sasha in any way it would be the ninja photographer… She’s there but she’s not. She doesn’t intrude or interrupt your day but gets the most amazing, natural photos. Somehow there’s photos of me and I don’t even remember her being next to me, haha.”

Whitley Hall Hotel is a beautiful 16th century, ivy-clad mansion, nestled in the rolling countryside of South Yorkshire. On a bright & sunny July day, this is where the gorgeous Rebecca & Chris would be getting married. They’d been together for almost 5 years, and Chris popped the question one Christmas day by putting the engagement ring inside of a cracker – how cute 💕! They chose Whitley Hall Hotel because “Whitely Hall was the only venue we went to personally view. We loved the building and it’s beautiful surroundings. The travel down the road to the venue is very fairy-tale like with the woodlands and we loved the peacocks 🦚.”

Chris arrived at the venue early with his groomsmen, and spent a little time making sure that everything was in check and had a drink while greeting guests. Rebecca arrived shortly before the ceremony in a huge, swanky, white Hummer, and stepped out looking every inch the Disney princess.

When Chris saw his bride walk on to the aisle, arm-in-arm with her dad, he just burst in to tears. Pure love & happiness – such a wonderful moment to capture. Rebecca walked down the aisle to ‘I see the light‘ from Tangled. It was a special song for her to walk down to, as it is one of their favourite films. She told me, “I am Rapunzel because of my long hair and Chris is Flynn because of his cheeky charm & charisma he had when we first met. We also have a little chameleon called Pascal just to finish the family off.” Adorable.

After the ‘I dos’, the newlyweds walked back down the aisle together, making their way outside in to the hot sunshine for some Pimms. After a little while we took a bunch of group photos together, before the 3 of us went for a walk to capture some relaxed bride & groom pictures.

The wedding breakfast room looked super pretty, especially up by the top table where there were lots of fairy lights draped against the back wall. The room, like most of the day, had a cute Disney theme going on. There were Mr & Mrs Potato Heads stationed up at the top table, and the tables were named after Disney couples. The wedding favours were really sweet – wax melts with an Olaf tag reading ‘some people are worth melting for’ ⛄😍.

After filling their tums, everyone relaxed back and enjoyed listening to speeches. The hot summer air lasted long into the evening, creating the perfect atmosphere for some alfresco drinking. The breakfast room had been transformed for the evening’s events, complete with sweetie cart and dance floor. The new Mr & Mrs Manning made their way inside ready to cut the cake, before going straight in to their first dance. The song of choice was ‘Just the way you are‘ by Bruno Mars. Every couple has ‘their song’, and this was Rebecca & Chris’. “One day we just had one of those special moments where nothing else mattered and this was the song playing.” As they danced together on their wedding day, it seemed like they felt the exact same way as they did before.

Notes from the happy couple:

What are you most looking forward to on the day?
Definitely seeing Chris’ face as I walk down the aisle and seeing his reaction – I hope he has a little tear.

Why do you like natural wedding photography?
I love when someone is naturally captured in the moment. I feel it shows true emotion and a real smile in a photo is so much more than a staged one. The photographs mean so much to me as these are my forever memories, something I will one day show my children and hopefully my grandchildren, so I want every moment captured as it is, natural.

Kind words :
I can’t remember exactly how or where I found Sasha but I’m so glad I did!
I met Sasha one day to see her photography styles. Even though I was already set on having her capture our day, but thought best to meet her too. She’s such a lovely, friendly person who I knew I’d feel comfortable around.

My photos from Sasha are beyond perfect. She captured the whole day and even got bits that I missed! I don’t think I’ve ever had so many emotions looking at photos, laughing at some and then a little tear of happiness for the ceremony ones.

I would recommend Sasha to anyone and everyone and all my guests said just how amazing she was and loved her photos.
