Kerrie & Jamie ♡ Stamford Registry Office Wedding

Kerrie & Jamie’s Stamford Registry Office wedding fell on the most gorgeous sunny day, blue skies, big smiles, and all the good vibes from start to finish.

“She was kind, responsive, honest and it felt like nothing was too much trouble. On the wedding day she put us at ease, something that isn’t easy when it comes to us being in front of the camera. She was great with our dog Winston, who isn’t the best with people but he took to her immediately and that is the highest seal of approval in our books”

○ What’s your love story?

We met online and our first date was a lunch at a lovely little independent coffee shop, Godsey Lane on the 15th Feb 2020. We chatted about everything and nothing, and arranged to meet later that week for date number 2. Date number 3 took a little longer to roll around as shift work is often not great for social calendars but we braved an escape room together, the now seemingly ironically named “Contagion”. We escaped and no one lost their temper so it was deemed a success. Then two days later the country went into the first of what we all now know to be many lockdowns.

We stuck to the rules and just communicated via message, especially as Kerrie worked in healthcare and was coming into contact with Covid regularly, but as the rules eased we met up again and chose each other to become “a bubble”.

Between the three of us, Kerrie’s dog (Winston) and us two it was love. Within the year we moved in together and in 2021 purchased our home together.

Fast forward a few years and a substantial whole home renovation, we finally got to leave the country together and since we waited so long to go away, we did the ultimate trip and flew to Australia to meet up with Kerrie’s old friends and for Jamie to see the place that Kerrie often said her favourite in the world. Then on the 15th Feb 2024, 4 years after our first date, on the headland above Coogee beach, and the start of the Coogee to Bondi coastal walk, Jamie proposed. He sent a video of Winston talking all about how he should become Winston’s real dad and then got down on one knee and asked the question.

It actually look a few minutes to say yes as there were so many I love yous and cuddles, but the answer was never in doubt. The following few hours were probably the best of our lives. Walking the beautiful Sydney coast line, stopping and taking in the views and walking hand in hand the length of Bondi beach in the shore break, just us, in our “bubble”.

○ Why did you choose Stamford Registry Office as your wedding venue?

It is local, we love Stamford and so many of the buildings are built from the local natural stone. The architecture is beautiful, in addition to the local green areas just makes a wonderful backdrop for a wedding.

Then onto the Millstone in Barnack, a gorgeous country inn nearby that backs onto the Hills and Holes nature reserve. They have a stunning separate space for hire which is private and tailor food to your preferences, they also have the Hills and Holes for photos and are dog friendly. What more could you need? 🙂

○ What is the style/theme/vibe of your wedding?

Relaxed and fun. We just want our guests to have a great time, and hopefully be light on their wallets too.

○ What music are you walking down the aisle to / first dance and why?

Our song, Boxes by the Goo Goo Dolls. It sums us and our love up so wonderfully. We can also have varied taste in music and often don’t like the same artists but this was perfect from the first time we heard it.

○ What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Becoming husband and wife.

○ Describe your ideal wedding day in 3 words:

Free of fuss.

○ Why do you like natural wedding photography?

We are people who just enjoy each other and the beauty of the people (and animals) we love, and the places we go. The best images are always the unposed ones, they convey much more authenticity and emotion than those that are staged. We are also much happier pulling goofy faces than smiling for the camera, we’re awkward souls and don’t fight that. So natural photography seemed the obvious choice.

○ Any advice for future brides & grooms planning their day?

Remember it’s about what you want. Whether that’s big with all the bells and whistles or small and simple. There’s no specific right way, it’s about it being for you as your day.

○ Kind words:

“We are so grateful to have found Sasha images when looking at photos around our venue. She has been brilliant throughout our wedding process, especially as she was the first vendor we booked and as such we needed to shuffle things around.

She was kind, responsive, honest and it felt like nothing was too much trouble. On the wedding day she put us at ease, something that isn’t easy when it comes to us being in front of the camera. She was great with our dog Winston, who isn’t the best with people but he took to her immediately and that is the highest seal of approval in our books.

Then the photos….. just WOW. Never in a million years would we have expected them to be as amazing as they are but we love all of them. So thankful to Sasha for everything and would recommend her in a heartbeat.”
