Sophie ♡ 1st Birthday Baby Photoshoot Derbyshire

I recently had the pleasure of photographing baby Sophie’s first birthday photoshoot at her family home in Derbyshire, and it was such a lovely day.

We began the morning outside, where the garden was covered in a gorgeous carpet of red & orange autumn leaves. Sophie looked adorable in her cosy outfit, giggling as she played among the colourful leaves. We captured some beautiful portraits of her sitting and crawling in the sunshine, with the rich autumn tones making the perfect backdrop for her milestone photos.

After our time outdoors, we headed inside for the second part of the shoot, a mini cake smash! Sophie’s parents had set up a sweet corner with bright orange balloons and a cute, small, homemade chocolate cake just for her. At first she delicately poked at the icing, but it didn’t take long for her to dive in with both hands, smiling from ear to ear. The combination of chocolate cake, orange balloons, and Sophie’s happiness made for some truly joyful photographs.

It was such a pleasure to capture these special moments for Sophie’s family. First birthdays are such an important milestone, and combining outdoor portraits with a cake smash meant we could create a collection of images that are fun, personal and full of personality.
