A look at Sima & Till’s gorgeous Benares Mayfair & Islington Town Hall wedding in London.
“Thank you SO much Sasha for capturing the love, happiness and fun on our wedding day. We love every single photo and would not hesitate to recommend you to everyone. You’re a massively talented photographer and the most lovely person as well! x”
The ceremony itself was lovely. The Town Hall is very beautiful, and Sima and Till said their vows in the Mayor’s Parlour, which is a rather grand, panelled room where many dignitaries have been received and entertained over the years. It’s the perfect setting for a small wedding, with it’s sumptuous leather chesterfield sofas, teak furniture and plush carpet.
My favourite photo is actually when Sima walked in the room – Till had such a huge grin on his face, it was a great moment. She really did look stunning in a vintage, champagne-coloured gown and a big feather boa, carrying a beautiful bouquet of daffodils and peonies. And, in a nod to her Indian heritage, she wore a decorative bindi on her forehead, which was a lovely touch.
After taking some great natural photos of Sima and Till in the Town Hall entrance, we travelled by minibus to Benares, a Michelin-starred Indian restaurant in one of the swankiest parts of London. The food came out in several courses, and champagne and cocktails flowed. Sima’s mum kept ordering me mocktails, which was pretty adorable, and insisted I join everyone for food, which was so delicious. She was incredibly sweet and kind, it really made me feel welcome.
After the meal, both dads and the best man gave their speeches, which were heartfelt and hilarious in equal measure. It was also pretty funny that Sima kept correcting errors in Till’s speech about the details of their relationship. We were all in stitches at that point!
Once we’d all eaten, the wedding party moved on for more drinks and partied into the night, so I’m told. What a great end to a fun, intimate and tight-knit wedding – I wish Till and Sima all the happiness in their future together!
