Sarah & Martin got married on a cool, cloudy and dry August day at Barnsley’s Tankersley Manor. This lovely and quaint venue has a very homely feel to it, and as a bonus there is plenty of space for guests to stay the night. Sarah & Martin chose Tankserley Manor as they “loved the style & relaxed atmosphere.” “It’s also where Martin’s dad got married in 2014, so is already personal to us.”
The atmosphere at bridal prep was very calm & collected, which was a lovely start to the day. Martin meanwhile was greeting guests downstairs and enjoying a drink with everyone. He wore a handsome grey suit, topping the look off with a purple tie and purple rose boutonniere.
A cellist had set up in the Tankserley Manor ceremony room, and was playing some beautiful renditions of pop songs to set the mood. Soon Martin & the guests were all ready in the ceremony room, waiting eagerly for Sarah to make her way down the aisle. The bridesmaids came first, followed by the beautiful bride. She wore a gorgeous traditional, long, white gown with a sheer, lace detail on top. Her short, brown hair had been pinned up elegantly, topped off with a pretty tiara.
The ceremony was very sweet, as the happy couple grinned and giggled throughout. After making their promises to one another they led the way hand-in-hand outside for welcome bubbly & Pimms cocktails, ready to kickstart the celebrations. 🎉
We took some group photos, had a mini bride & groom shoot and a little throwing of confetti on the grounds. The wedding breakfast room had been decorated in a pretty white & hessian style, with purple flower petals scattered on the tables. Sarah & Martin chose this style as it was “a bit unusual and suits the venue.”
What the rest of the evening entailed was much fun, laughter, bouquet tosses, dancing and violet gin drinking. A total celebration in style 🍸. Congrats you two.
